With YouTube and other video sharing websites, watching streaming video online has become very popular. Many blogs (or vlogs) post streaming video content, and get regular visitors because of it. Video provokes interaction and is definitely the most popular form of content these days, so you should make sure to use it.

EasyFLV Streaming Video software offers a way for you to add professional flash video clips to your website. It has very advanced features from easy player customization to adding intro images eg. for advertisement use. The software does everything for you, which means you will not need to know anything about coding to use it.

The first thing that I noticed about it was that it is very fast. I hate to come by a great vlog, only to spend minutes loading the page. That’s a real advantage, when compared to embedding content from other services - the player loads from your web server and is very light. It does not even load the video before you press the play button - unless, of course, you configure it to start immediately.

Their other product: FLV Converter comes free with Video Streamer. It is a program to convert your existing video files to streaming format. Looking at the list of formats supported, I can say I’m impressed. I can’t think of a format off the top of my head that it didn’t support. Its options and features are too many to list here, check them from the site.

For those of you eager to make money online, EasyFLV also has an affiliate program for those who have bought the product. They have generous commission of 50% of sale price, so it has great potential as an additional money maker on your blog or website.

Find more information on video streaming software, see their website.

Simon, it’s true that it takes a lot of effort, but if it increases your traffic…

Your welcome!

Very informative blog. How much does the FLV convert software cost? Also I have a question. Which do you think is best to go by, google page rank or alexa? I find both vary for instance I have over 2000 visitors a day yet alexa does not see due to most people don’t use their tool bar. Almost 50% of my traffic is USA based yet alexa shows iran as my top traffic and I only get about 2 visitors a day from iran. Keywords, and page rank, I am in a niche market of dating since I am a Thai girl thus ” asian girls ” is my #1 keyword.
I have to compete with porn to get to the top of the search engine. Where porn is a place you would never see google ads yet they place their own ads on search result pages which contain all porn.
I have fought for 4 months to get asian girls to #17 for http://www.thaidarling.blogspot.com my predicted page rank is also a 4. Do you have any suggestions for me. And how do you feel about RSS. Blogger seems to only allow me to set my rss to full instead of short, which means my entire post is shown on directories such as my blog log via rss so the 436 readers I have there never venture on to the site which results in 1,200 to 1,600 off site clicks that blog never gets credit for at just at this one directory location. :( Any thoughts on a solution? Thank you again and if this comment is too long just delete me :)
I will still love you anyway.

Hi Dee, thanks for your comment. To answer your first question, the software costs $39 or $49, depending on which products you need. Check out their site for more information.

Google PR and Alexa ranking, though most often used, are actually the worst indications of a site’s value in my opinion. PageRank is only updated every 3+ months, so it rarely corresponds to the current situation. Alexa, on the other hand, depends on users of their toolbar. That makes it very niche dependent. Also, there are ways to game it. I wouldn’t rely on either one as a metric. You should check out Stat Counter, if you are not yet using it.

The fact that Alexa shows Iran as the top source only means that you have an active reader or two from Iran, who happens to have Alexa toolbar installed. If you really need to have accurate or higher Alexa statistics (though I can’t think of a reason to), consider adding the Alexa widget on your site. You can see it on my toolbar, and get the code for it here.

I really think #17 for “asian girls” is very good. Some porn sites rank above you, that’s true, but for some searchers your ranking is actually #4. How? Have you heard of the “safe search” feature on Google? It has three levels: no filtering, moderate filtering, and strict filtering. If you try to search “asian girls” with the strictest level, your site ranks #4. See for yourself. Now most searchers probably don’t have the filter enabled, but some might, without even knowing it. Keep building your backlinks, and you can build a steady search engine traffic, first from the “safe search” searchers, and later from those without it - once your ranking improves. See my post on link exchange programs for tips.

Regarding RSS, I strongly recommend using full feed regardless of whether you are on Blogger or WordPress. You’ll find you can get a lot more subscribers with a full-text feed. Yes, you may lose a bit of traffic to your site, but there’s a way around it. Check out almost any of my posts, and I have multiple links to other posts on them. There are two reasons for this. The first is SEO - it helps crawl depth. The other is RSS readers - if someone is reading my feed, and wants to check one of the links out, he’ll arrive at my site. I recommend you use the same technique. Link to related posts with interesting anchor text that makes feed readers arrive on your site.

Another thing I notice about your site is that you are on BlogSpot. I really recommend you get a custom domain. Head to Namecheap and use the coupon code “ROCKTOBER” to get a $7.99 domain. That’s a small investment compared to what you can gain with it. Check out my post on Blogger custom domains, if you need help setting it up.

If you have more questions, or need help, feel free to contact me (see the about page for contact details).
