With the October PageRank update behind us, this is a perfect time to start a new website. The next update will probably happen in a few months. The time between updates has usually been three months, but was about five before the latest one.
By starting a new website now, you’ll have three whole months to develop your site’s content and backlinks before the next update draws near. It means that you’ll have a great chance to get a good PageRank score in the next update.
I don’t put much value on PageRank myself, but even though I wish it were otherwise, advertisers and website buyers still place some value on it. If you are interested in making money with your new website, getting a good PageRank score will give you more ways to make money with it - whether it is ad sales or selling that you choose.
Selling a Website
There have been several blog sales recently, and the main reason for them is that many blogs got their first PageRank score in the recent update. That new PageRank score has allowed them to find interested buyers.
If you wish to sell the website after the next update, you should take it into account when planning your website. Your choice of a domain name, and branding of the site in general, should reflect your plan to sell it. For example, you should not brand it with your person or name, but in a general way that helps the transfer to a new owner.

I took you advice and have started several new websites. After all, it can be hard for new sites to get PR.

Advertising is a great way to monetize a website, and one I prefer to selling. Nevertheless, there may be times, when selling is a better option.

i’m glad i missed that page rank update, i have been reading other blogs and it sounds like it was a nightmare
Great idea to start a new website now. I’ve been playing with the idea for a while but I’ve been stalling. Guess I should get on it while the getting is good since we just had another page rank update! Thanks for the boost.
