In case you haven’t heard the term, Google Sandbox refers to how Google sometimes does not show a new website on SERPs even for long tail keywords. The Sandbox-effect does not happen with all new websites. If you find your site does not rank even for complete phrases, your site may be in Google Sandbox.

When you find that your website has been put to the Sandbox, you need to get it out of there. Here are some ways to get Google understand your site’s worth, and remove it from the Sandbox.

  • Build backlinks from authority websites
  • Add your XML sitemap to Google Webmaster Central
  • Ping Google Blogsearch with your feed or sitemap
  • Avoid duplicate content, create more unique content
  • Update your site regularly, even multiple times a day
  • Use social media marketing

In addition there is speculation that using some other Google services can help you out of Google Sandbox. I cannot prove any of these, and Google will most likely tell that these are not related to SERPs at all. Examples of services that some consider to help are:

As I mentioned above, the second list of ideas is based on rumors, and may not help you at all. However, the first one works quite well in my experience. The most important items on the list are avoiding duplicate content and link building. Simply doing those two may help you to get out of Google Sandbox.

Actually the only reason you get pulled ou of sandbox is with time or a visual inspection from Google. Sandbox is only given to new domains to be used as a filter to spam sites. If your site has small traffic it does not trigger the flag if your site starts getting real traffic the flag is activated depending on how much traffic is how severe you’re sandbox restrictions will become. Best bet stay away from new domains and buy an aged pre-owned domain.

Success
