November traffic and earnings were both up from last month, but not quite where I would have liked to see them. Despite not setting any goals last month, I’m a bit disappointed and will do my best that next month will be a better one.

Traffic

I’ll start with the one that’s most important to me: traffic. My traffic for November was 5,371 uniques and 21,589 page views. That’s a 34% increase from last month, but a bit less than I expected.

Traffic sources remained the same, with visitors mostly arriving from direct links, Google, or StumbleUpon. Despite the Google issues, traffic from that source stayed the same. As new additions I got some traffic from BloggingZoom and from Yahoo!

Most of my traffic is USA based (90%), with the rest coming from all over the world.

Other Stats

My blog currently has over 100 posts and 400 comments. I post five posts on average every week. Here are some other statistics I currently have:

Alexa rank increased due to having only owned the domain for a couple of months. The new 2,000 or so backlinks were also reflected in my Technorati rank. Almost every post on my blog is indexed, in addition to many tag and archive pages.

Earnings

I only made $68 this month, mostly from my banner sales. I dropped AdSense last month in favor of selling the spot. That means I earned an average of $3 per thousand visitors. Not that bad, but theres definitely room for improvement. I’m looking to implement some additional streams of revenue for next month.

Plans and Goals

Due to the holiday season, I don’t expect next month to be much better. I hope I can keep up with my five posts per week, but will probably take a week or two off for Christmas. Even so, there will be plenty of time to improve traffic and monetization methods.

I’m planning to do some more marketing and link building, probably buy a few ad spots somewhere. Before that, however, I need to work on monetization and acquire more advertisers. To that end I have a special offer:
