As many have predicted for quite some time, the get paid to surf program Agloco has been announced dead. The owners couldn’t even get enough income to cover the costs, let alone pay anyone for their effort. Many make money online bloggers have promoted Agloco heavily, and ended up getting nothing. What’s there to learn from Agloco?

Obviously, when promoting a new program like Agloco, you can never be sure if you will get paid or not. That means there’s always a risk involved. Does that mean one shouldn’t promote a program before they have made their first payment? Possibly, but the best time to promote a program is before everyone has heard of it. If you wait until they pay, you lose a lot of potential referrals.

This is the same risk versus returns dilemma that surrounds almost any business decision, but there’s more to lose than just the money. By promoting a product that will never make it to your readers, you also risk losing their confidence in you. They may be more critical of your suggestions in the future.

I would suggest being wary and promoting the programs you really believe in. You could promote a startup program like Agloco, where the user does not need to invest any money, and little time. However, if the program requires investment of any sort, you should have proof it will work before you promote it to your contacts and readers.

Although there is a lesson to be learned here, no one is actually going to learn it. Any program that looks professional enough and offers the chance to earn lots of money if you recruit a lot of people will always get promoted like crazy. This actually happened a few years back with Juiced internet service. It was a complete hoax and scam but was promoted like crazy for months.

Any of my sites that my name is attached I do not promote something that I do not use. One ce I use a product or service and it provides returns then I will promote it. I hate looking like a fool promoting something that peeps will learn sooner or later that is worthless.

Yes, it is about time. The funny thing is, as they close, another one opens. TTZ Media is releasing a very similiar product, complete with Ponzi scheme and all. And people like John Chow, who get paid to promote these things, talk about how great it is. Then his thousands of followers go and sign up. Wait a year or two and we’ll be back where we started. Some people really never do learn!

Unfortunately there’s never proof that anything will work. If there was proof that google would work right back when it started then all search engines which already existed wouldn’t be dead now. They would’ve all changed their layout and business model at the time.
