In one of my posts last week I wrote about how you can use your blog posts for article marketing. That saves you much of the time you would normally spend on writing articles for both purposes. The method will still take some time, because you need to rewrite each article to avoid duplicate content.

Another problem you may have noticed is article length. Most article sites (including Article Marketer) require articles of at least 400 words. Many bloggers post blog posts of significantly shorter length. Rewriting a 200 word blog post into 400 words will either take a lot of time or produce low quality content.

One answer to both these problems lies in combining two or more blog posts into a single article. By selecting two related posts and creating a single article from them you both increase content length and create more unique content than you could from just a single article or post. The method is as follows:

  1. Choose two or more related articles.
  2. Copy the two into a single document.
  3. Edit, so the text flows freely.
  4. You have a brand new article.

The more articles you combine and the less of each remains in the final article, the more unique the content actually is. You can also use this method for other purposes than article marketing. You could even combine several posts into a definitive list on a topic, which would be a great link bait idea.

If you’re really lazy and crooked you can always use other people articles and a fake name, although I don’t recommend or do it myself (seriously I don’t)… rewriting an article isn’t too time consuming anyway.

Using other peoples articles is fine, as long as you play by the rules. That means, take them from an article directory, or buy PLR articles.

Article writing is the key to success on the net. Whether it be unique content on your site, or for article marketing. Finding creative ways to create articles and content is always an interest to me. Thanks for your post!

That’s a pretty good idea, I’ll have to give it a shot. Some of the articles I write are already a collection of ideas too short to make into a full post, so I save them up and make an article instead.

I was originally considering copying or rewriting articles for my page, but realised taking user comments and opinions would be easier and give a more balanced view anyway

I find that taking a PLR article (and there are literally thousands and thousands available)and totally rewriting it is the best way to go. A 500 word article would only take about an hour to rewrite and all of a sudden you have original content that you could even submit to ezine article.

From an originality point of view using PLR articles strictly as source material is of course the best way to go. However, in the time you would completely rewrite a 500 word PLR article, you could easily create 3-5 articles from double that amount of PLR articles by combining and minor rewriting.

The better way to do it is to source it from free article sites and combine your articles from there

don’t forget to rewrite the stuff - and avoid being detected by copyscape

Also editing your posts to generalise the article would be better off than just the original post
